Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
How long does the entire process typically take?
Most assessment pathways are completed in 1–2 weeks across three structured sessions – an initial screening consultation, a comprehensive assessment, and a diagnostic report and support plan.
Timelines can flex around your schedule and the time you need to complete the assessment questionnaires between appointments. For medico-legal and parental capacity reports, turnaround is typically 2–4 weeks from referral to final report.
Do I need a referral from my GP to start?
No – a GP referral is not required. You can self-refer and book directly with us.
If you’d prefer to involve your GP, we’re happy to liaise with them throughout the process and can provide a GP summary letter after your assessment to support ongoing care.
Are your assessments recognised officially?
Yes. All assessments are conducted by qualified psychiatrists and psychologists registered with the College of Psychiatrists of Ireland, the Royal College of Psychiatrists, and the Psychological Society of Ireland. Assessments follow DSM-5 diagnostic criteria using gold-standard clinical tools including DIVA-5, Qb Test, ADOS-2, AQ, and RAADS-R as clinically indicated.
Our reports are widely accepted by GPs, schools, colleges, employers, DARE and RACE schemes, Tusla, disability allowance applications, and courts – depending on the report type. If you have a specific requirement, let us know at booking and we’ll confirm suitability before you proceed.
Is the assessment entirely online?
Yes. All sessions are delivered online via secure video consultation, so you can access specialist care from anywhere in Ireland without the travel, waiting rooms, or time off work.
You’ll need a private space, a stable internet connection, and a device with a camera and microphone – that’s it. For child assessments, we can arrange sessions that involve parents and, where relevant, teacher input alongside the child. In-person or hybrid arrangements are available on request for specific medico-legal or forensic cases where clinically indicated.

Our Commitment to Ethical Assessment
Not everyone who experiences attention, concentration, executive functioning, or social communication difficulties will meet diagnostic criteria for ADHD or Autism. Our clinicians are committed to providing ethical, evidence-based, and individualised assessments. If ADHD or Autism does not appear to be the most appropriate explanation, we will guide you towards the most suitable assessment pathway, supports, or recommendations tailored to your needs.
